The original building started in 1962 as a Jewish synagogue. In the 80's the building was purchased by a Christian Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Edward Lucas. This group stayed in the building until 1994 when it was purchased by Living The Word Christian Ministries (LTW). The one story house at 20456 Hubbell was acquired by Pastor Lucas's group and turned into a day care center. The LTW purchase included the church building, the ranch-style house and the vacant lot to the South of the house. In 2001 LTW added a major addition to the rear of the main building. This addition added the current entrance hallway and sanctuary of the building while the original sanctuary was transitioned into a multi-purpose room. We also paved the parking lot to the south of the office building. From 2003 to 2005, three vacant lots were acquired to the North of the church (totaling 150 feet of frontage along Hubbell). This brought the property to its present size, of 6 lots.
After starting with 25 members, the LTW congregation has grown to about 150 members and now has a need for additional space especially for our expanding youth program. The building has served LTW well and is in excellent condition. We are confident that whomever takes possession of the property after us will be blessed.
