City of Taylor: Fact Sheet |
Taylor Township was named after President Zachery Taylor, 12th President of the United States. In 1830, Peter Coan was the first person to settle this Wayne County area. In 1847, Taylor Township was comprised with Jared Sexton as it first supervisor. The town was incorporated as a city in 1968.
In 1996, President Clinton visited the City to dedicate the Public Works building and the renovated City Hall. |
