In 1961, the Dearborn Free Methodist Church had a dream to begin a new church in Taylor. Land was purchased in 1967 and on May 17, 1970 Taylor Free Methodist church was dedicated to the work of our Lord. Four years later Taylor Free Methodist Church (TFMC) started a preschool, Taylor Tots. In 1972, Light and Life School began with Kindergarten, first and second grades with grades added each year until they graduated a high school class in 1986. June 2008 was the last high school graduating class with 24 graduates.
The church has been served by six Senior Pastors during this 38 year period. Dr Bill Fix is currently the Senior Pastor and is in his eleventh year of service. The Taylor Tot Program and the church plan to continue in a facility that better suites their ministry thus allowing a new ministry to build on their success at this facility. |
