Willis/Augusta Township: Fact Sheet |
Willis dates back to a farming community formed after the civil
war. The original areas settled were Eton Mills and Paint Creek. Willis's original
growth was due to a train stop (erected in 1881) at the intersection of what is
now Willis Road just east of Bunton. Currently, the Pickle Barrel Inn occupies
the location of the original post office and train station. Willis is part
